In 1550, Camillus de Lellis was born in Italy. as a young boy, he often got into trouble. After his parents died, Camillus decided to change the foolish life he was leading. He wanted to become a soldier, but the army would not accept him. Camillus then started to work in a hospital. There, he relized that hospital workers needed to be motivated by charity. Later, camillus became a priest and founded an Order. symbolized by a red cross on the cassock, it was called the Company of the Severants of the Sick.
